“ Good food and service @ Nagoya in Salem, OR. ! We were passing through and in need of a good sushi restaurant. This restaurant had mixed reviews and we were willing to see what's what. We were acknowledged and seated upon entry. We received great service by Summer throughout our time here and were checked on frequently. The food was good and we ate more than we should have. The restaurant itself was on the larger side with decent decor. It could have been cleaner and updated, the walls were a bit dirty and paint was chipping off in many different spots... Overall, satisfying dinner. ”
“ I got seated for early dinner and it wasn't crowded at all. When I walked in the hostess asked if I was going to have hibachi or sushi; I guess your reply will dictate whether they see you in the Teppanyaki area or the sushi area. I guess Hibachi is their way of calling Teppanyaki. Not sure what they would do if I had said I wanted tempura, which is neither. I got a cocktail which was well-made by the bartender, then I ordered the Sushi & Sashimi Deluxe entree. It came very well presented with a little plastic flower arrangement and everything nested on a Japanese style bridge. All the seafood was fresh and delicious, and came out at the right temperature. The yuzu kosho was a nice touch on several pieces of nigiri sushi. It was a great meal had a pretty decent price. I couldn't remember if the entrée came with miso soup, so I asked the very helpful server and he happily provided me with a bowl of miso soup without any hesitation and without charging me. All in all a great experience in Salem. The only letdown was the oysters on the menu that were not available, which was the primary purpose I had chosen here in the first place. ”
“ Nagoya Steakhouse is great for groups of all sizes. I appreciate the daily lunch specials and the friendly staff. I tend to visit for hibachi lunch specifically, but they also offer a sushi bar. Ingredients are always fresh and tasty. Be aware, you will leave the restaurant smelling like cooking oil. ”
